Nio Teas Advent Calendar
Happy October! I was lucky enough to receive a Nio Teas Advent Calendar in exchange for my thoughts. While I also produce a tea advent calendar in my shop, this one is quite different and very exciting because it’s 24 days of Japanese Teas! My trip to Japan is coming up on a year and I still remember it with such fondness especially because I got to experience Japanese tea in so many different ways. I was able to have it at cafes, tea houses, bars that were specifically meant for tea or that produced tea infused cocktails only and also I visited a tea farm!
While I have been enjoying Japanese teas for many years, before my trip I truly didn’t know that much about Japanese tea production. So it’s exciting that this holiday season I can celebrate with Japanese teas from December 1st - 24th. In this post I will be sharing about the calendar in general and then later on I will share more about my experiences with the teas when I start drinking them!
If you would like to purchase an advent calendar from Nio Teas, you can do so HERE, please note that this is not an affiliate link.
Cost: $109 for 24 teas
Promotion: Nio Teas is also celebrating 8 years and are running a promotion where you can purchase any 2 products and pick up a free ceremonial matcha,, gyokuro or genmaicha for free.
Spoiler Warning: Please note, this post has spoilers that include how many of each type of tea and I opened one of the tea that shows which day it is as well.
I want to express how beautiful and functional this packaging is. The advent calendar comes with a box that is housed in this beautiful sleeve. When you open the sleeve there is a calendar on the inside for you to use.
The packaging is also informative. This advent calendar comes with 24 teas that are 4g each. The back of the packaging has a very useful tasting chart as well as a breakdown of the teas you are receiving. I also love the map of Japan showing where the teas are coming from.
Sencha: 12
Genmaicha: 1
Kamairicha: 2
Gyokuro: 4
kukicha: 2
Bancha: 1
Hojicha: 2
I think this breakdown makes a lot of sense because it’s giving you a very full range of teas while focusing on sencha and gyokuro the most since those will have the largest variety and also the most popularity or that is what I observed in Japan.
The advent calendar is housed in this box which is encased in the sleeve shown above. I love that it’s in a box because it’s pretty for displaying and it will keep all your teas in order. Moving on to the inside of the box, there are 24 little file folders for each day. There are also separators inside so the teas stand a little better. This packaging design is SO GOOD! The files are also numbered which make it easier to keep track and overall I like the simple design.
Once you open each file, you get your 4g tea sample and a ton of information about the tea. I love the graphics and how there are brewing and tasting instructions!
Overall, I think this is a fantastic advent calendar! The design of the calendar is beautiful, functional and unique. I’m excited for December 1st to start tasting these teas!
